I got Airtel Online activated on my phone and it is suprisingly convenient to be connected through my phone. I can now check my gmail, search for stuff, download themes from the sony ericsson website, etc., etc. right on my phone and I can even blog with the phone! Check out my new mobile blog here! It’s a blogger blog, hosted on my server. I know this is nothing new, but it is new to me and it’s damn cool! :)

My domain is exactly a year old and as part of its first birthday ’celebrations’ I’m putting the site through a lot of changes/updates/upgrades!

The first major change is I’m upgrading to the latest WordPress 2.0.6 release. Next I’ll be working on the various plugins that I’m using on the site. Will be upgrading some to their latest versions and will be removing some and also adding some new ones to the list. Will post the list of plugins once I’m done. I’m also working on a new theme for my site. Been using the old theme for a long time now and it’s time I changed it.

I’m afraid it’s going to take a while before the site is completely up and running – parts of it should be fine – but certain secions and the theme / presentation might be affected. Kindly bear with me and the site during this phase!

Thanks to all the sitting around at home, I finally got time to work on my website – Upgraded to WordPress 2.0.4 and also upgraded my K2 theme to the less buggy K2 0.9 Release. Added a few more plug-ins to my site and removed some of the ones I didn’t need anymore.

The various plugins that I am using now are -

1. Extended Live Archives – For the nice live archives that you see in the archives page.

2. Brian’s Latest Comments – To see the latest comments in the side bar.

3. Filosofo Home-Page Control – To enable me to use this WordPress install like a CMS. Lets me choose which static page becomes the home page as the default is the blog page. I have enabled the Home page to be the home page!

4. FAlbum – Helps in integrating my flickr account with my wordpress site.

5. Live Post Preview – Lets me preview the posts as I write them.

6. Spam Karma 2 – Reloaded – Eats up all the comment spam. Very useful plugin.

7. Google Site Map generator – Creates a Google compliant sitemap of my WordPress blog.

8. Visual.SpellCheck – AJAX Spell-Checker for my posts.
