"Cash-a? Card-a?" November 4, 2006
I’m sure most of you vehicle drivers in Bangalore would have heard that ‘chant’ very often at many of our infamous petrol bunks. This question is asked exactly when the guy with the pump is about to fill fuel in your vehicle and you are distracted long enough for the bunk to cheat you by a few ml or more of fuel.
Cheating at petrol bunks is so common here in Bangalore, and probably in other cities as well. If someone starts an open debate on this, you’d find hundreds of people agreeing and coming out with their own experiences of how the petrol bunk guys conned them. Like this or this.
Anyway with the setting up of Shell petrol bunks in the city, we now have a place where we can be sure to get a 1000ml of fuel if we ask for 1 litre and not some 950ml (or even less) like in other bunks. Like most of my friends and relatives even I have now shifted to Shell and have stopped going to any other bunk. Maybe its the fact that we are getting the correct amount of fuel or maybe its the superior quality of the fuel, but the mileage sure does increase with fuel from Shell.
Compared to the mess and confusion and cheating prevalent in other bunks, filling fuel at Shell is heaven. Starting with the ‘Namaskara’ to confirming the fuel counter is reset to zero and clarifying the amount and type of petrol to be filled and getting the printed receipt always, makes for a pleasant hassle-free experience indeed. The other bunks and even other organizations need to learn what ‘customer service’ is from Shell.

Hi Sab, I had blogged about this as well : http://therohanranade.blogspot.com/2006/09/my-little-struggle.html
Sharath had pointed me to the Shell Petrol Bunk. It’s really good.
Yep Shell is the best petrol bunk bangalore has got .. I used to fill it up only in reliance or shell .. but after reliance hiked the rates .. it was just shell .. But once the shell guys double swiped my card .. that too for different amounts ;-)
I had a bad experience just today with a petrol bunk near my place. They are a horrible set of people.
