“I take refuge in Buddha, I take refuge in the assembly, the Sangha, I take refuge in the true nature of things as they are”.

My sister and I used to pray along with the monks and we also had our own unique way of telling it. All these memories came flooding back when I heard the chanting again at the Golden Temple in Coorg.

Tashi Lhunpu Buddhist Monastery

Tashi Lhunpu – The Golden Temple was established in Tibet in 1447 by the Dalai Lama as the main teaching monastery of the Gelupa order. After the Chinese take over of Tibet, the refugees were settled at Bylakuppe in Coorg and the Monastery was re-established here in 1972.
