Se7en January 21, 2006

Just finished watching the movie Se7en a few minutes back. It was about two detectives and their investigation of some horrific murders, on the lines of Hannibal or Silence of the Lambs (gruesome murders, clever murderer, blood, gore, dark and psychotic), revolving around the theme of the Seven Deadly Sins (Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, Lust, Pride, Envy and Wrath). The film has an impressive starcast featuring Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Watch as the killer finds people who have committed one of these sins and then punishes them and then as the detectives investigate these incidents and finally get caught up in the serial killer’s plans. The ending is very dramatic and highly unexpected and I’m not going to spoil anything for you here! Another must watch movie.

As I was searching for info about this movie – I found a test to see which of the seven deadly sins one is. The results are as follows -

Angel
You are… WAIT! – you’re none of the Sins you’re
an Angel! Perfect, or close enough, and annoyingly so! Did
you always behave so ‘just right’. ARGHHH . You can annoy the
hell outta people with your attitude, but no doubt your church
is real happy with you. The positive side certainly outweighs the
negative, after all, you do chores, are smart, are cute, do
charity work. Least you know what a perfect saint you are. You
just make the rest of us sinners vomit. Perhaps you could break the
rules once in a while, go wild – Eat an extra
cookie or something. However – congratulations on being the most pure,
of the entire human race. ?? Which Of The Seven Deadly Sins Are You ??

[...] Went out with mom in the evening and I got home in time to finally see Saw. The movie comes under the genre of dark/psychopath killer/horror/crime and was one of the best movies I’ve seen in this genre apart from Se7en. The movie revolves around this psychopath killer, ‘Jigsaw’ – (but you can’t really call him a killer, because he doesn’t kill anybody. He just gives his victims a reason and the means to kill themselves) – who abducts people whom he accuses of not being grateful of being alive and puts them in a ’game’ as he calls the sick situations wherein they end up pretty much killing themselves or others just to stay alive. Lots of gruesome stuff and definitely not a movie for the faint hearted. But overall a great chilling thriller. The ending is a blood curling unexpected twist and just leaves you wanting to see Saw II. [...]
